Puppies
Puppies can be a wonderful addition to any family’s happy home. Dogs are now tied with cats as the most popular pet in the United States, so why not buy a Puppy of your own? Puppies are very trainable, and have a variety of useful advantages, whether you want a work dog on the farm, or just a Puppy to keep you occupied by the fire.
Puppies are highly trainable animals, as stated, especially at a young age. Puppies can be taught a wide variety of tricks and obedience commands that could be valuable asset for your home. Puppy training can be easily done yourself, or by a professional. Keep in mind that Puppies have a tendency to be a higher maintenance animal then cats or ferrets, so make sure you’re ready for the attention loving Puppy.
Puppies also get along very well with other animals that you may have in your house. Puppies can easily get along with other dogs, cats, and ferrets. But keep in mind that some breeds of Puppy may cause problems with other pets. For example: a pet ferret could easily be seen as prey to a young hunting dog Puppy. Also, if you have more aggressive pets in the house (such as larger dog) you may want to reconsider buying a Puppy for your newest family pet. Likewise, having smaller children and a Puppy (both of which are easily excitable) may not be the best combination either, and could cause unwanted trouble.
The cons of owning a Puppy is all the time and energy it takes to care for such a high maintenance animal. Puppies require constant exercise, play, food, and attention, which could be strenuous for you over a time. Another problem many have with Puppies is how destructive they can be – especially when teething. When Puppies are in this “teething” stage, they will chew on anything and everything they can sink their teeth in. So if you buy a Puppy, we recommend taking any necessary cautions to “puppy proof” your furniture, as well as any other objects in the house that your Puppy may be interested in biting into.
